McCarran-Ferguson Precluded Federal Racketeering Claims Against Insurer Over Annuity Sales, Eighth Circuit Rules
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit has ruled that an annuity purchaser could not pursue federal racketeering claims against an insurance company and its affiliates because those claims would impair state regulation of the insurance business, as prohibited by the McCarran-Ferguson Act.  Read More
